History of Dania Pier (Shown in the Dania Pier Webcam)

Dania Pier, also known as the Dania Beach Fishing Pier, is a historic pier located in Dania Beach, Florida, United States. The pier was first built in 1904 and was originally used as a means of transportation for cargo ships. It was later converted into a recreational pier, and in 1928, a bathhouse was added.

Over the years, the pier has been damaged by hurricanes and has undergone several renovations. In 1965, the pier was extended to its current length of 925 feet, and a new bait shop and restaurant were added. The pier has also been used as a filming location for several movies and TV shows, including “Flipper” and “Bloodline.”

In 2017, the pier was closed for renovations, which included the replacement of the wooden deck and the addition of new lighting and benches. The pier reopened in 2018 with improved amenities and accessibility features, such as a new elevator and wheelchair ramps.

Today, the Dania Pier remains a popular attraction for locals and tourists alike, offering fishing opportunities, scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean, and a nostalgic glimpse into Florida’s history.
